I have been raising birds for many years. I started out raising hook bill birds. I started out with cockatiels and buggies. Later I also had some of the larger hook bills. I have raised pigeons, homers, rollers, doves, and other breads.
Then I found the type I really enjoy working with. Through the Carolinas
Virginia Pheasant and Waterfowl Society, I found that I really enjoy Pheasants and Waterfowl. Also I really enjoy the quarterly meetings the club has. Getting together with the other members and talking about birds. Its also a good way to keep up with the laws, as they vary state to state and often there are changes in the laws. Even the club makes changes what it allows at meeting sometimes. As in our Janurary 2012 meeting we decided to no longer allow Chickens and Turkeys because they are sometimes carriers of certain diseases that can be fatal to gamebirds. I have some pictures of birds I have at present in the Photo Album of my web sight. Later after the spring breeding season I will add pictures of birds that I will have for sale (with lots of luck).
If anyone visiting this site would like more imformation on just birds that we raise or more about the CVPWS, feel free to e-mail me. You will find that bird people are always willing to talk birds with just about anyone. Whether it is about the birds or about building pens or lot of other subjects.
